The editorial Newfoundland Editors resumes his creative writing workshops in the barracks Ballajá from Saturday, September 8 by offering a workshop on story and a novel for young people and adults with artistic.

The story workshop "Narrative in stained glass and mirrors" will be led by writer and teacher Yolanda Arroyo, author of Eye of the moon and selected as a delegate of PR in Bogota 39, an initiative that recognized the talent of 39 Latin American writers under 39. The narrator has received numerous awards for his stories in Argentina, Chile and Puerto Rico and is an outstanding workshop leader on issues of development and technology. In his workshop, Yolanda Arroyo "will encourage the creation in the genre of narrative, using the story and the story as exercises that encourage independence of thought and allow the implementation of various literary styles in prose." The story workshop begins Saturday , September 8 and will meet from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM. The cost is $ 225.00.

novel The workshop will be led by writer and editor Elidio La Torre Lagares, author of the novels Gracia (Pen Club Award) and History a little god. In this workshop, participants will draft a novel (Chapters, delineation of characters, setting and main and underlying conflict) and write the first three chapters. The cost of the workshop is $ 250.00 and will meet from Saturday, September 15 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM .

Yolanda Arroyo Pizarro


Yolanda Arroyo-Pizarro (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico 1970). Story writer, essayist and novelist, cultural activist and columnist. Has just Novel Pen Club Award for best novels published in Puerto Rico during 2005 in a ceremony on November 12, 2006 at FIL-PR, by the book The documented. Story was first prize in 1988, together two honorable mentions and a publication in the Journal of the Universidad Central de Bayamon in the 1st Inter-College Literary Contest. At nineteen, 1989, received an award at the municipal level for their contributions to the community culture after having written and directed the play "A Where Is the Love." It depicted the social and economic situation in the neighborhood where he had grown up, Amelia-Cataño.
has recently been awarded the First Place International Award Pepe Outboard 2006 and 2005 in Argentina, for two consecutive years, also receiving First Place 12 mo. Puerto Rican Literary Contest Account, Technical University of Puerto Rico again in 2005. He was a finalist in the First International Short Story Competition Visceralia 2006 in Chile. He holds several other awards: Notable leading authority and author of the editorial Pegasus Publishing Argentina in their contests for Fiction. Has been included in the anthology of stories in honor of Alfonsina Storni (Rosario, Argentina, Ediciones Pegaso 2003) and the anthology of stories in tribute to Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz (Rosario, Argentina, Ediciones Pegaso 2004).

He is currently instructor and coordinates Educational Technology literary events with authors, booksellers and publishers in the courtyard. Was a participant of the jury committee of poetry in the PEN Literary Contest in Puerto Rico 2005 award. Their stories converge in the pages of other cultural magazines, including Preamble, Tongued, UPR Rio Piedras.


In the coming months, several of his stories must be translated into French by the Parisian literary magazine Nouveauxdelits. Published in in 2004 his first book of short stories entitled Origami de Letras, in 2005 his novel The Documented and will soon launch a joint project entitled Women of Our Days in collaboration with a group of emerging writers and literary workshops Puerto Ricans. workshop leader and performer who Liceaga Yara has extensive experience offering poetry workshops for children and adults both in Puerto Rico and the United States. Liceaga Yara has emerged as a facilitator in Boston, working on the project of the University of UMASS and the William Joiner Center, "Hispanic Writers Week, to improve the writing skills of Latino students in the city, thus contributing to develop their sensitivities. In Puerto Rico, offers workshops to improve communication and pedagogical skills of teachers, in collaboration with Library Betances. It is also a columnist for the weekly Clarity and collaborates with Directo Court as production coordinator of the "Lexikon" for WIPR, Channel 6.
